The Canadian Government-funded Improved Access to Justice in the Caribbean (IMPACT Justice) Project in partnership with the Parkinson Memorial Secondary School, Barbados, launched the Triple H (Help, Hope, Heal) Youth Development Programme, a youth assistance programme, on January 11th, 2017.
The Triple H Programme is an IMPACT Justice pilot programme which falls under the Project’s Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) component and is intended to assist 20 students (10 boys and 10 girls) of the Parkinson Memorial Secondary School in the areas of:
- conflict resolution and anger management;
- spiritual development;
- making best choices in terms of social development;
- academic development;
- teamwork through sport; and
- dealing with community issues.
The Programme comprises 2 weekly 2 hour sessions over a 7 week period and is being run on the school compound. It is expected that as a result of the training programme the students will become champions for peace in their communities.
