The Canadian Government-funded, Improved Access to Justice in the Caribbean (IMPACT Justice) Project returned to Guyana for its second round of community mediation training, after having successfully completed a set of two training sessions earlier in October.
As with the first set of training, two 40-hour workshops took place simultaneously from October 31st to November 4th: one for officers of the Ministry of Social Protection at the Pegasus Hotel and the other for police officers at the Guyana Marriott Hotel Hotel. This training falls under the project’s broader ADR component, the goal of which is to build capacity for community mediation services in the region.

His Excellency Pierre Girous, High Commissioner of Canada to Guyana, Ambassador of Canada to Suriname and Canadian representative to CARICOM
The two workshops ended with a joint Closing Session at which His Excellency Pierre Giroux, High Commissioner of Canada to Guyana, Ambassador of Canada to Suriname and Canadian Representative to CARICOM delivered remarks on behalf of the Government of Canada.
