(December 3, 2014) The Improved Access to Justice in the Caribbean (IMPACT Justice) Project and The Supreme Court of Barbados are hosting two mediation lectures by The Hon. Mr. Justice Francis Belle.
The lectures fall under the ADR public legal education programme of the IMPACT Justice Project and promote the commencement of a Court-Annexed Mediation programme in Barbados, which is scheduled to begin in 2015.
The guest speaker, the Hon. Mr. Justice Francis Belle, is a Barbadian, who currently sits as a High Court Judge in the OECS Supreme Court and he is also Chairman of the Court Connected Mediation Committee in St. Lucia.
The first lecture entitled, ‘The Mediation Imperative: The Benefits to the Courts and the Community’ will be held at the Ralph Carnegie Lecture Theatre, Faculty of Law, UWI Cave Hill Campus on Thursday, December 11, 2014 from 7:30 p.m.
The second lecture, ‘Problem Solving through Community Mediation’ will be held at the Hugh Springer Auditorium, Solidarity House, Barbados Workers’ Union, Harmony Hall, St. Michael on Friday, December 12, 2014 from 7:30 p.m.
